Children's Recreation & Development Programs 
After School Programming in 4 Locations

We provide social recreational after school programming for children ages 5 to 12 in a safe & engaging space. Our staff work hard to improve the self-esteem of each child by introducing them to exciting and new activities, positive role models, and a welcoming space to share with family & friends. We are licensed by Interior Health Facilities and comply with the Community Care Facility Act and Child Care Licensing Regulations.

 

Government Childcare Subsidy available for eligible families. 
Full-day care provided on Professional Development Days at the John Tod Club. Must register to reserve your spot.

Location: John Tod Centre Main Club, 150 Wood Street

 

School pick-ups: Arthur Hatton, Lloyd George, Kamloops School of the Arts, AE Perry, BEST, Kay Bingham, Parkcrest & KCS.

 

Hours: 2:30 PM to 6:45 PM

 

Daily Details: Each child is provided with a nutritious snack and enjoys social recreational program activities inside and outdoors.

Barnhartvale

POWER START

FREE PROGRAM. Our friendly and caring staff pick children up from their homes on school day mornings and safely drive them to the Club. Children are fed a nutritious breakfast and receive help with preparing for the school day, which includes transportation to their school. When school begins, children go to their classrooms ready to learn with a healthy snack for recess. Children who take part in this program may be experiencing challenges with food sustainability or getting to school on time. Power Start is a free community program. Daily Details: Transportation, breakfast, a recess snack, and school-day preparation are provided. 
 

How to Register: Please obtain a referral from your child's school principal if they attend one of the schools we support.

SPRING & SUMMER CAMPS

We offer full-day, social recreational camps over spring and summer break for children 5 to 12-years-old. Children are split into three age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-12. In the summer, each week has a different theme offering fun, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate activities. Please note: 5-year-old children must be entering grade 1 in the fall to be eligible for summer camp. 

 

Locations: John Tod Centre Main Club (150 Wood Street)                           

Brocklehurst Club (Kay Bingham)                                                 

Lower Sahali Club (Beattie Elementary)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30* AM to 5:00* PM, *location dependent. Day trips between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM - must show up by 8:30 AM on these days.

 

Cost: $175/week per child with a 25% deposit to hold your spot. You will be charged a fee if you change or cancel your dates. Your children may attend for less than 5 days/week but you will not receive a discounted rate. You may be eligible for sponsorship or a government subsidy to help reduce costs.

 

Daily Details: Children arrive at the Club and engage in fun, social recreational activities with friendly program leaders. Children must bring a morning snack, lunch, and water bottle, and we will provide an afternoon snack. You'll be provided with a schedule of their activities and day trips each week.
